Board of Education Approves Phase 4 of the Master Athletics Plan for Dozier Field

The Park City School District Board of Education, on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, during a special board meeting session, approved the guaranteed maximum price of approximately $15.7 million for Phase 4 of the Master Athletics Plan at Dozier Field, with no increase in taxes required to fund the improvements.

Phase 4 includes a new track surface and a full reconstruction of the home-side bleachers. The new concrete seating structure will feature integrated locker rooms, restrooms, concessions, a press box, and added storage to better support high school athletics and events.

The current synthetic turf will remain in place because it still has useful life. Additional improvements are planned near the southeast stadium entrance, replacing temporary restroom facilities and enhancing the space for visiting teams, storage and officials.

District leaders worked closely with the design and construction team to evaluate materials, simplify design elements and adjust site features to reduce costs while still meeting the core functional needs of student programs and community use. Cost-saving adjustments included modifying branding elements, eliminating a canopy to be considered for a future phase, and scaling back initial landscaping plans to focus resources on essential competition facilities.

Utilizing remaining bond funds along with existing district reserves, we’ll complete the project without any additional impact on taxpayers.

“Thanks to the Board of Education's long-term planning and commitment to fiscal responsibility, we’re able to move forward with this project without any added financial burden on the community,” said Lyndsay Huntsman, Park City School District Superintendent.

Dozier Field upgrades are part of the broader Treasure Mountain Sports Complex and high school campus modernization strategy.  This will allow us to address aging infrastructure while supporting growing participation in athletics and activities across the district.
