Ecker Hill Middle School and Treasure Mountain Junior High Bands in Perfect Harmony with Superior Ratings at State Festival

PARK CITY, Utah — Ecker Hill Middle School’s band was perfectly in sync last Thursday, hitting every note to perfection at the State Junior High Band Festival. The 7th grade band earned straight superior ratings — the highest score possible — with no minuses. Out of 33 bands across the state, Ecker Hill was one of only seven to achieve this top honor.

What makes this even more impressive? Ecker Hill’s band was the only 7th-grade and second-year player band invited to perform after qualifying — a major accomplishment.

“The fact that we were even invited was a huge accomplishment,” said Band Director Zach Giddings. “The kids worked incredibly hard to demonstrate the best of their abilities, and I couldn’t be more proud.”

Treasure Mountain Junior High’s band also hit a high note, earning a superior rating overall.

“It is no secret that part of our success is the fact this building has a huge culture of success all throughout,” Giddings said. “It is being part of a team with teachers like you who make it easy to motivate the kids to be excellent.”

Special recognition goes to Mary Morgan, Andrea Sato, and Jennifer Taylor for chaperoning and helping everything run smoothly during the contest.

“If you know any 7th grade band students, give them a high five — they nailed it!” Giddings added.

The success of both Ecker Hill and Treasure Mountain bands highlights the dedication of the students and staff, reinforcing Park City School District’s commitment to excellence in music education.

Las bandas de las Escuelas Secundarias Ecker Hill y Treasure Mountain están en perfecta armonía con la mayor puntuación en el Festival Estatal.

PARK CITY, Utah — La banda de la secundaria Ecker Hill estuvo perfectamente sincronizada el jueves pasado, tocando cada nota a la perfección en el Festival Estatal de Bandas de Secundarias. La banda de séptimo grado obtuvo la mayor puntuación de manera unánime — El puntaje más alto posible — sin ningún punto negativo. De 33 bandas de todo el estado, Ecker Hill fue una de las únicas siete en lograr este enorme honor.

¿Qué hace esto aún más impresionante? La banda de Ecker Hill fue la única banda de séptimo grado y de jugadores de segundo año invitada a presentarse después de haber calificado, lo cual es un logro demasiado importante.

"El hecho de que fuimos invitados fue un enorme logro”, dijo el director de la banda, Zach Giddings. "Los niños trabajaron increíblemente duro para demostrar lo mejor de sus habilidades, y no podría estar más orgulloso."

La banda de la escuela secundaria Treasure Mountain también alcanzó una nota alta, obteniendo la mayor puntuación en general.

"No es un secreto que parte de nuestro éxito radica en el hecho de que este edificio tiene una gran cultura de éxito en todos los aspectos," dijo Giddings. "Es ser parte de un equipo con maestros como ustedes, que hacen que sea fácil motivar a los niños para que sean excelentes."

Un reconocimiento especial va para Mary Morgan, Andrea Sato y Jennifer Taylor por ser acompañantes y ayudar a que todo transcurriera sin problemas durante el concurso.

"Si conocen a algún estudiante de la banda de séptimo grado, ¡denles un choca esos cinco, que lo hicieron increíblemente!" agregó Giddings.
