Park City High School Scores National Recognition for Athletics Program

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City High School has been recognized with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s (NIAAA) Quality Program Assessment (QPA) Award, one of the highest national distinctions for high school athletic programs.

The award was presented at the 56th annual National Athletic Directors Conference, held recently in Tampa, Florida. The yearlong assessment was completed under the leadership of Chris Baer, a technology coach at Park City High School, who guided the extensive review process while earning his designation as a Certified Master Athletic Administrator.

The QPA is a comprehensive, evidence-based evaluation of a school’s athletic program, examining areas such as leadership and administration, student-athlete well-being, safety and risk management, program organization, and community engagement. Schools undergoing the assessment must demonstrate alignment with national best practices and commit to continuous improvement.

Only 158 high schools nationwide have earned the QPA designation, representing approximately 0.69 percent of the more than 23,000 high schools in the United States. Park City High School is one of just seven schools in Utah to receive the honor.

The recognition reflects Park City High School’s commitment to providing a well-run, student-centered athletic program that supports both academic and athletic success while maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety, and equity.
