Park City School District Celebrates High School Expansion with Ribbon Cutting and Open House

Park City, UT (October 10, 2025) – Park City School District welcomed families, students, staff, and community members to Park City High School on October 9 for a ribbon cutting and open house celebrating the completion of the school’s new expansion. The event showcased the district’s ongoing commitment to creating dynamic, student-centered learning environments that reflect the spirit of One Park City – Where Learning is Personal and Every Path is Possible.

Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman opened the program by welcoming attendees and reflecting on the years of planning and collaboration behind the project.

“What you see here represents years of planning, collaboration, and a shared belief in what our students deserve,” Huntsman said. “These new spaces reflect our commitment to ensuring learning is personal and that every path is possible.”

The expansion includes new classrooms, flexible learning areas, and state-of-the-art facilities for Career and Technical Education (CTE), as well as a new Teen Center and student commons area known as The Mine.

“The Teen Center will serve as a hub of support for students, a place to connect with someone, grab a snack, or simply take a breath,” Huntsman shared. “It’s a reflection of what we believe education is all about, not just academics, but belonging, well-being, and connection.”

The event also highlighted the dedication of teachers and staff who adapted during construction. Huntsman recognized educators like Natalie Starr and Kyle Fish, who showed creativity and flexibility throughout the renovation.

“Special thanks to Natalie and Kyle, who’ve been teaching photography and film from just about every corner of the building,” Huntsman said. “A lecture hall, faculty room, even the green room, if it had four walls, it’s probably been their classroom over the past two years. They finally have spaces designed for their craft, and that’s something worth celebrating.”

Guests were invited to tour the new Career and Technical Education Wing, which opened to students last year and provides hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for life beyond high school.

“Education is more than textbooks and technology,” Huntsman said. “It’s about preparing students to think critically, collaborate across differences, and lead with empathy in a fast-changing world.”

Superintendent Huntsman closed by thanking the Board of Education, construction partners, the Park City Education Foundation, and the Park City community for their continued investment in education.

“This building is more than walls and windows. It’s a reflection of our One Park City spirit,” she said. “It’s a symbol of what happens when a community invests in possibility, and a reminder that the best views come when we climb together.”
