The Office of Legislative Auditor General’s (OLAG) released the report: A Systemic Performance Report of the Park City School District, Report Number 2023-11 at the September 18, 2023, 4 pm Interim Meeting of the Legislative Audit Subcommittee.
The stated mission of the Office of the Legislative Auditor General is to “serve the Utah Legislature and the citizens of Utah by providing objective and credible information, in-depth analysis, findings, and conclusions that help legislators and other decision makers: Improve Programs, Reduce Costs, and Promote Accountability.” PCSD is the third district to undergo this audit process, following Weber and Salt Lake City. Following PCSD, OLAG will audit Juab School District, with the intention of conducting the budgetary and performance audits in all Utah’s Local Education Agencies (LEA).
PCSD has received the recommendations in the performance audit, which both affirm our strengths and provide constructive guidance for improvement. PCSD is committed to further studying the report and to working towards system improvements where necessary to increase compliance, efficiency and accountability.
It’s important to clarify for the PCSD Community that this report serves as a snapshot of our ongoing efforts, rather than a comprehensive review. While the recommendations put forth indicate areas where we need to strengthen internal controls for regulatory compliance - something we take very seriously - the audit’s primary focus is on identifying room for improvement, rather than celebrating our numerous achievements.

We are exceptionally grateful to our dedicated, expert PCSD educational and operational team who deserve credit for the remarkable accomplishments we’ve achieved in our district.
