Park City School District Welcomes New Superintendent to Lead the Way

Park City, UT—The Park City School District (PCSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lyndsay Huntsman as the next superintendent of Park City Schools.

Huntsman, a dedicated and experienced leader, has over 20 years of experience as an educator and administrator across four school districts in Utah. She has served in roles including teacher, assistant principal, principal, and Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE). Over her 13 years in Park City School District, Huntsman has fostered positive relationships with students, staff, and families while developing innovative programs that prioritize student growth and success.

“We’re in the midst of a transformative era in education, brimming with challenges and incredible opportunities,” said Huntsman. “I believe the future lies in collaboration—bringing together students, educators, families, and community partners to reimagine what’s possible. Together, we can create dynamic, inclusive learning environments that prepare students for their future.”

The Park City School District Board of Education expressed their unanimous support and full confidence in Huntsman’s ability to lead the district into the future.

The Park City Board of Education took a thoughtful and strategic approach to selecting the next superintendent, prioritizing the needs of the district and input from the community. With a strong emphasis on leadership, communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Board ensured that the search aligned with the values and priorities of Park City School District.

“Once it became clear that we needed to find a superintendent, the current board leadership began working with the Utah School Boards Association (USBA) and looking at possible internal candidates,” said Reed. “Lyndsay's depth and breadth of experience, leadership priorities, and approach to the challenges facing our district were the qualities the board was looking for in a new superintendent. With twenty years in education and administration experience in PCSD and other districts, her many professional accomplishments, the high praise and esteem of her colleagues, and her established relationships in our community, we know that she is the right choice to lead our district.”

“There are many dedicated and talented professionals within our district, we believe in providing opportunities for career growth for our staff.  The board is delighted to unanimously and enthusiastically support our new superintendent and to demonstrate a commitment to hiring from within,” said Meredith Reed, President of the Park City School District Board of Education. 

Nick Hill, Vice President of the Park City School District Board of Education, added, “Lyndsay’s depth of knowledge, innovative mindset, and unwavering commitment to students is exactly what our district needs to continue building on its success. We are thrilled to have her lead us into the future.”

The Board also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Interim Superintendent Caleb Fine, who stepped into the role during a critical time of transition for the district. Fine, a long-serving educator and leader in the district, worked tirelessly to ensure stability and continued progress.

“Caleb provided steady and thoughtful leadership during his time as interim superintendent,” the board stated. “His ability to maintain focus on our district’s goals, including the school realignment process and the closure of Treasure Mountain Junior High, has been instrumental in keeping the district on track. We are deeply grateful for his service and look forward to his continued support during this transition.”

Fine will continue to assist Huntsman in the transition and will support ongoing district initiatives, ensuring that the leadership change is seamless and that the district remains focused on its mission to provide equitable, excellent education for all students.

 

Background on the Lyndsay Huntsman

Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman believes the act of learning creates bonds that build stronger communities. As an educator and administrator, she has spent 13 years in Park City School District, fostering positive relationships throughout the schools and the wider community. A longtime leader in Career and Technology Education (CTE), Huntsman has developed inclusive learning environments that empower students to succeed both academically and beyond their educational experiences.

Huntsman began her career as a teacher in Weber and Morgan County School Districts before joining Park City School District in 2009. She has served in leadership roles including Assistant Principal of Park City High School, Principal of The Learning Center, and Director of CTE in both Park City and Provo School Districts. Throughout her career, Huntsman has prioritized growth—whether in student opportunities, staff development, or building community partnerships to enhance education.

Raised outside Atlanta, GA, Huntsman earned degrees from William Penn University, Weber State University, and Southern Utah University and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University.

Huntsman lives in the Heber Valley with her two daughters, Rylann (7) and Rowyn (4). They enjoy hiking, skiing, and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs on crisp fall Saturdays (Go Dawgs!).

Huntsman, una líder dedicada y con amplia experiencia, cuenta con más de 20 años de trayectoria como educadora y administradora en cuatro distritos escolares de Utah. Ha ocupado diversos roles, incluyendo maestra, subdirectora, directora y Directora de Educación Técnica y Profesional (CTE, por sus siglas en inglés). Durante sus 13 años en el Distrito Escolar de Park City, Huntsman ha fomentado relaciones positivas con estudiantes, personal y familias, al mismo tiempo que ha desarrollado programas innovadores enfocados en el crecimiento y éxito estudiantil.

"Estamos en medio de una era transformadora en la educación, llena de desafíos y grandes oportunidades", dijo Huntsman. "Creo que el futuro radica en la colaboración: reunir a estudiantes, educadores, familias y socios comunitarios para reimaginar lo que es posible. Huntsman comenzó su carrera como maestra en los Distritos Escolares de Weber y Morgan antes de unirse al Distrito Escolar de Park City en 2009. Ha ocupado cargos de liderazgo como Subdirectora de Park City High School, Directora de The Learning Center y Directora de CTE en los Distritos Escolares de Park City y Provo. A lo largo de su carrera, Huntsman ha priorizado el crecimiento, ya sea a través de oportunidades para los estudiantes, el desarrollo del personal o la creación de alianzas comunitarias para mejorar la educación.
